Thank you for your interest in the drum position that is currently available in Funk Evolution Entertainment.

We are actively seeking a replacement drummer to start in the early summer of 2025. Our current drummer, Nick Palazeke has a fluid end date but will begin focusing on his original music projects this summer.

​

Primary requirements:

​

  • Laid back personality, rock solid dependability, professional demeanor & polished image are paramount priorities.

  • A Client-focused mindset. 

  • Adoption of our full gig calendar is essential; we do have a solid sub but, for the sake of quality, we intend to utilize him sparingly. 

  • 2-year minimum commitment.

Our ideal drummer:

Funk Evolution has an incredibly diverse book ranging from Bridal Standards to Modern Rock, Top-40, Country, etc. Versatility is essential. We seek a drummer with FINESSE who plays super musically/dynamically, listens to what everyone on stage is doing and is reactive. When the moment is right, we appreciate a drummer who can unleash their inner beast and lay down a sick solo. Ideally someone with a fat pocket and groove with impeccable time (Dave Weckyl) would elevate the group. We aren't into heavy handed rock drummers or showoffs - we are looking for a team player who knows when to lay back and when to drive the band.

    • Funk Evolution was built on a business platform; we have extensive organization and communication systems in place that are essential to the success of a professional entertainment group. Our structure eliminates the stress, confusion and abrasion typical of hobbyist bands and is incredibly client focused.​

  • Limited Responsibilities:​

    • Band members show up, perform & head home. ​

    • Bandleader handles all marketing, finances, booking, set lists, legal, production, etc. 

  • Reputation:​

    • We have a polished reputation that has stood the test of time; we are currently celebrating our 15th year as a leading entertainment group in the 518.

    • We are listed as a preferred vendor with most every venue, coordination team and caterer in the region.​

  • Material:​

    • Not all cover bands are equal. Funk Evolution works hard to create unique medleys, mashups and we seek out opportunities for personal musical expression in the material we perform. ​

  • Family:​

    • Funk Evolution is a very family focused group. We spend a lot of time building the bonds of a band - the relationships off-stage and among our significant others are the best part of who we are. We are all amazing friends and are a tight-knit support system through the good and the bad.

  • Unusual Perk:

    • Access to a beach condo in the Fort Lauderdale region of Florida is extended to band members and their families. ​
